Can’t wait for TMZ to interview the people around them.

426

u/Starksgoon 11d ago

TMZ will probably get the footage of what they actually said.

410

u/GoodShark 10d ago

I heard on the radio today, that someone reported that what they said was...

"I hope Bronny dies in a car crash."

Obviously just hearsay at this point, but if it's true, I'd want their asses out too. Some things cross the line. That's one of them.

He was pretty reserved in the press conf. He just said they said something over the line but didn’t mention specifics, or allude to racism. Might come out on twitter later.

That’s my feelings as well. He’s heard so much smack in his career but I’m sure his line is when people make comments about his wife or kids. Can’t blame him if that’s the case

If it was racism it wouldn’t just be Lebron and it would’ve set off someone else nearby. Probably something just over the top. I don’t think Lebron would be this casual about a racial attack as well.

Same thing as the Rockies Dinger situation. The first people who were questioning it (and were absolutely lambasted for suggesting it) pointed out that no one around the fan had a strong reaction which you would expect if someone was dropping seriously racist shit.

160

u/Ruut6 10d ago

I know it was a terrible scene initially, but when I found out that the guy was actually yelling "DINGER" I laughed so hard. The thought of some poor dad yelling at the mascot repeatedly and then being accidentally canceled on the internet and being labeled a racist by the whole world for an hour just trying to get the mascot to entertain his kids is still so funny to me.

The accusation is that the hecklers said “I hope Bronny dies in a car wreck” (those who by chance don’t know, that’s LeBron’s son)

Source: https://twitter.com/jbeyer1831/status/1463743736807104516?s=20

Edit: just to reiterate I am saying:

accusation

It’s a hell of an accusation, yes, but they had to say something REAL fucked up to get LeBron James to have you thrown out a couple plays later, fucked up enough where LeBron said “..there’s some things you just dont say to people.” I’d say that falls into the category.

I know money matters but I would love to see the NBA arenas remove some of those front row seats and give these players some space

35

u/IMovedYourCheese Warriors 10d ago

That is never going to happen. At Chase Center those seats go for $20K per game. And players themselves wouldn't be in favor of removing them considering they get a cut.

8

u/GoodShark 10d ago

I mean, take out 2 rows, and it's not the cost of the 2 rows that will be lost. The third row just becomes the front row, and those ones are now $20k per game. Take out the cost of the last 3 rows in an arena, because they're just going to bump up the price of everything moving backwards.
