Productivity LPT: if you don’t feel like doing anything in the morning, go for a 15-minute walk around the neighbourhood. By the time you return, you’ve accomplished something and started your day.

Social LPT: Be mindful of poorer friends when suggesting splitting the bill equally in a restaurant. Some people will choose cheaper options because they're on a budget.

Social LPT: DON'T be on your best behaviour on a first date. DO be your normal, everyday, relaxed hanging-with-friends behaviour. You want the person to like you for who you actually are, not who you are pretending to be. You will save yourself a lot of wasted time dating people who only like the fake you.

Miscellaneous LPT: If I (cashier) gives you a discount while shopping at our store don't demand the same discount with another member of staff next time, we were feeling kind, don't get us in trouble.

Miscellaneous LPT: Just because a Man seems strong and emotionally secure doesn’t meant they don’t need a hug and some compassion from time to time.

Social LPT: Try to be understanding of people with chronic pain. Some people have pain disabilities you can't see in their joints, back or bones. It is easy to think they should be able to do more, but unless you have experienced sever back pain or similar items it is really hard to understand.

Careers & Work LPT if you don't get a raise equal to inflation you're taking a pay cut. If you get a raise equal to inflation you're being paid the same. Demand a raise above inflation.

Traveling LPT: If you’re staying in a hotel and need to iron your clothes, send the first few puffs of steam into a towel. It may have been a while since the last time the iron was used, and the steam holes may be filled with nasty brown mineral deposits which you don’t want heat-blasted into your clothes.

LPT: If you constantly vent your problems to someone, make sure to also call them when things are going well. Good listeners can sometimes get overwhelmed, and it's nice to hear positive news.

LPT: I don't know about anywhere else, but here in Canadian grocery stores there is a very small group of text on the price tag that shows $ per kg, or $ per mg etc. This makes it incredibly easy to compare prices so you get the best bang for your buck.

Social LPT: Responding to everything with negativity is a terrible habit that's easy to fall into. Internet culture rewards us for pessimism, but during personal interactions it's a huge turn-off.

Social LPT: Want to be more charismatic? Don't try to be more impressive or entertaining, focus on being a very good engaged listener. Engaged listeners make eye-contact, ask questions to bring the speaker out, and don't interject with their own stories or change the conversation to be about them.

Home & Garden LPT: When you spill wine on fabric (clothing, carpet, couch). Dab it carefully with a paper towel to absorb most of the liquid, then pour salt over the remaining stain. The next day, the salt will have absorbed most the wine and you just vacuum it up. This has saved me tons of permanent wine stains!

Miscellaneous LPT: Kids will often forget to say "thank you" when they open a gift because they're distracted by the excitement of the new toy (or whatever) so it's best to teach them to say a proper thank you BEFORE unwrapping it so there's less pressure. Eventually they won't need to be reminded.

Food & Drink LPT: When searching for recipes on sites like Pinterest, copy the URL into justtherecipe.com to weed out the unnecessary backstory and ads. The site also lets you save the recipes into “Your Cookbook”
