I have worked here for 2.5 years at $11.25 an hour. I have not received a raise since I was hired. It's actually against their policy to give raises unless you get promoted, but they won't promote me because they know I have been going to college (just graduated 😁 ) and I will be leaving at the first opportunity. I only stayed with this job for so long because they let me study while I work the cash register. This sub has taught me that if you don't get a raise every year that atleast matches inflation, you are actually taking a pay cut, so I'm going to hit this company where it hurts. Every customer gets atleast a dollar off. I now charge for the small size no matter what size fountain drink or coffee they get. You say you got 2 taquitos? It looks like 1 to me. Whoops I forgot to scan one of your power aids. All Nestle products are now free because fuck Nestle, and I'll make sure to mark them off as stolen goods so Nestle takes 50% losses on those items (vendors like nestle split the losses with the gas station for stolen/damaged goods). If my employers don't want to invest in me, they will feel far greater losses. I will continue to do this until I find a new job in my chosen profession.
What makes your skin crawl/makes you cringe? Live laugh love signs? People sharing a dog missing in Idaho post with 'shared Barnsley '? Literally anything inconsequential that you cannot stand
TIL that after Pennsylvania State Treasurer R. Budd Dwyer committed suicide before he was sentenced to prison, he was still employed in that position. His widow successfully applied for survivors benefits and received over $1 Million as he died while in office.en.wikipedia.org
